HOW TO USE OUR UNREFINED SHEA BUTTER?

What is Shea Butter?
Before we jump in on how to use Unrefined Shea Butter, let's understand what exactly is Shea butter and that too, what is Unrefined Shea Butter and why we absolutely root for it! ;)
Shea Butter is fat that’s extracted from the nuts of the Shea Tree. It’s solid at warm temperatures and has an off-white or ivory colour. Shea trees are native to West Africa, and most Shea Butter still comes from that region. Shea butter is typically used for its moisturising effects. When it is applied, the oils are rapidly absorbed into your skin. They act as a “refatting” agent, restoring lipids and rapidly creating moisture. There are two types of Shea Butter in the market - Refined & Unrefined Shea Butter.

Unrefined Shea Butter Vs Refined Shea Butter - Just what is the difference?
Unrefined Shea Butter is extracted and prepared without using any chemicals or preservatives. Our Shea is produced the same way African people have been doing it for centuries; hand-made by women and families using traditional methods passed down through generations and this really counts, because only Unrefined Shea Butter keeps all of its natural healing properties.
Refined Shea Butter on the other hand undergoes a refining process whereby its scent and colour is removed. Hence it is white and odourless. It is during this refining process that most of its natural healing properties are lost. In fact, According to the American Shea Butter Institute (ASBI), Refined Shea Butter has lost approximately 75% of its active ingredients. While Refined Shea Butter may be aesthetically appealing as it becomes a white butter, it lacks the true moisturising, healing, and nutritive properties of true traditional Unrefined Shea Butter.

How to use our Unrefined Shea Butter?
Our Unrefined Shea Butter is an all - round Beauty Product! Here's some tips on how you can enjoy our Shea ;)

On Face :
Shea Butter helps promote cell regeneration and helps reduce what researchers call photoaging - the wrinkles and fine lines that environmental stress and aging can create on skin. It also has antioxidant properties that helps neutralise free radical damage from sun exposure.
Our Unrefined Shea Butter can be applied directly to your face (as a face moisturiser) before you go to sleep at night. Break off a pea size amount, melt it between your fingers and apply to your skin. Remember that a little goes a long way as you are using a pure, dense, nutrient-rich skin food.
On Body :
Slather that Shea all over your body and watch how beautifully it works its wonders on your skin! Say Goodbye to any dry patches - Your skin will thank you for it, We promise! Scoop up the desired amount and rub into your skin until it's completely absorbed.
On Hair :
You may use our Unrefined Shea as an all-natural hair conditioner. If you have naturally curly or thick hair, you can use a small amount of shea butter as a leave-in conditioner. Oh! did we forget to mention, what an amazing curl definer Shea Butter can be!
If you have naturally thin or fine hair, consider using it just on the ends; as it's a moisture dense product, we do not want to cause an oily-looking buildup (especially if you have very thin/fine hair).
To Fade Stretch Marks & Get Rid of Cellulite :
High in Vitamins A, E & F, Shea Butter aids in cell regeneration and circulation. Vitamin A stimulates the production of collagen. When applied to the skin, these nutrients penetrates in and protects the collagen and elastin fibres of skin. For treating stretch marks, we recommend applying our Unrefined Shea Butter directly onto the affected areas and massage it in. Use twice a day to see results!
To Soften Hands & Heal Cracked Heels :
Shea Butter goes a long way in softening rough hands and also smoothens rough cuticles. You can simply use it as a hand cream! To heal cracked heels, apply the Shea directly on your feet or heels and slip on a pair of socks to let the moisture sink in overnight. You'll wake up to soft feet & feel it too!
Eases Inflammation :
If you struggle with chronic skin conditions like eczema, rosacea, and psoriasis, the fatty acids in Shea Butter will help ease inflammation. And because shea butter penetrates the skin quickly, you’ll feel relief sooner rather than later. One study showed that Shea Butter could be equally as effective at treating eczema as medicated creams, so it’s worth checking out!
